Site specific yew conservation action plan

This report provides baseline information on the distribution of Yew (Taxus) species in the wild and their harvesting practices in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Sindhupalchok, Nuwakot, and Ramechhap districts of Nepal. It also includes site-specific activities for the implementation of the Yews Conservation Action Plan, previously prepared by the Department of Forests and Soil Conservation.  Three yew species are distributed along Nepal Himalayas and all of them are globally threatened due to overexploitation of their leaves, and barks containing anti-cancer properties. Realizing the importance of their sustainable harvest and long-term conservation, the Taxling team at Greenhood Nepal technically supported in the preparation of this report for the Department of Forests and Soil Conservation.
