Pangolins are unique scaley ant eater mammals globally threatened by poaching and habitat destruction. There are eight pangolin species found across Asia and Africa. Out of that, Nepal hosts Chinese pangolin (Manis pentadactyla) and Indian pangolin (Manis crassicaudata). Though pangolins are protected species for Nepal, still the threat to the species is rampant. This policy brief highlights the pangolin conservation challenges in Nepal and suggests how best government, civil society organizations and people can help save it in the wild.
