Tortoises and Freshwater turtles are highly threatened reptiles in the world. Of the 356 turtle species, 50.3% are threatened due to overexploitation, habitat degradation, and genetic pollution. Nepal inhabits 16 species of turtles, 10 of them threatened under the IUCN Red List. The research and conservation awareness of turtles are limited in Nepal; therefore, this study aims to assess the troubles of turtles and conservation initiatives in Nepal. The project team visits the key turtle sites across Nepal and prepares key insights for future conservation programs.
