Shweta is a B.Sc. Forestry graduate from Tribhuvan University. Driven by a deep commitment to animal welfare, Shweta’s journey into conservation was fuelled by the realization of the devastating impact of the illegal wildlife trade. As a Project Officer at Greenhood Nepal, she contributes to nature crime control programs, collaborating closely with law enforcement agencies and other conservation partners. She also holds a Higher Diploma in Research and Writing in Social Science, thus integrating it with conservation, focusing on amplifying the voices of vulnerable communities. She is dedicated to addressing the complexities of human-wildlife conflict, paying close attention to the disproportionate costs of these encounters on those at the margins of gender, caste, and class. Beyond her professional endeavours, she finds joy in the movements of Kathak, drawing mandalas, and the world of books and audiobooks.
