Rhino conservation challanges and responsibilities

Nepal’s remarkable conservation efforts have successfully brought one-horned rhinos back from the brink of extinction, with the population now standing at approximately 752. While this achievement is worth celebrating, rhinos continue to face significant threats such as habitat loss, degradation, fragmentation, and poaching. This policy brief highlights the ongoing challenges in rhino conservation in Nepal and provides recommendations for how local governments,  parks, buffer zone forest user groups, civil society organizations, and local communities can work together to protect these ancient creatures in their natural habitat.
