We are delighted to share that our director has been awarded the Nature Conservation Award 2024 by Friends of Nature for his contribution to wildlife research, species conservation and illegal wildlife trade control.
Kumar Paudel’s statement is here –
‘I am immensely pleased to be one of the recipients of the Nature Conservation Award 2024 conferred by Friends of Nature at 11th Nepal Owl Festival.
The ceremony was organised under the towering peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, and in the company of local community and government dignitaries in Parbat district. No better feeling than having your work recognised by a conservation organisation that has been working on ground for nearly two decades in the country.
Working in nature conservation can often times be frustrating in these challenging times, the results are few and far between and yet we persevere chasing the smallest of changes because little improvements can inspire bigger impact. Appreciate the honour and encouragement from FoN in recognising my contribution to wildlife research, species conservation and illegal wildlife trade control. This motivates me further to continue to work for nature and people, to help them co-exist and thrive.
I dedicate this award to my mentors, colleagues at Greenhood Nepal and our supporters from across the world, because of whom I am able to continue conservation.’
