Kushal is an Assistant Forest Officer at the Department of Forests and Soil Conservation, Nepal. He began his journey at Greenhood in 2019 as a Research Intern and now works voluntarily as a Research Associate. His research interest lies in avifauna conservation.
Kushal began his career in conservation in 2016 as an amateur conservation leader. During his tenure as a coordinator of the Alumni Association for Conservation and Development at the Institute of Forestry Coordination Committee, he led various training and awareness programs in and around Pokhara Valley. In 2018, Kushal served as a conservation mentee at Chandra Gurung Conservation Foundation, Nepal, where he worked on a project to empower local students of Gorkha for bird conservation. In 2021, Kushal was awarded the coveted Rufford Small Grants for Nature Conservation for his project on controlling illegal bird trade in Kathmandu.
