Elisha Ghimire

Project Officer

Elisha Ghimire is a passionate conservationist with a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Tribhuvan University. She is dedicated on integrating landscape approach to safeguard Nepal’s biodiversity – from protecting the endangered Golden mahseer in Karnali to advancing community-led environmental safeguard initiatives for rhinos conservation in Chitwan. She has also previously worked to assess the efficacy of current environmental impact assessment implementation, policies and practices in the hydropower sector of Nepal.

Elisha thrives where policy meets grassroots action. Her research interests surround a common focal point – ‘development should never be at the cost of a healthy environment’. When not working, Elisha, a nephophile, is busy hiking and chasing clouds drifting over the gorgeous mountains of Nepal.
